Coverage
Every feature and geometry in the Natural Earth 1:10 million rivers and lake-centerlines layer. This is generalized cartography, not complete stream coverage, current flow data or a routing network. Coordinates are WGS84 longitude, latitude. Source dissolve identifiers repeat or are missing, so exact-content hashes identify this snapshot without dropping segments.
Read the data
JSON tables are arrays of records. GeoJSON files are FeatureCollections, with data fields under each feature’s properties. data-dictionary.json defines the fields, units, nulls and observed types. metadata.json supplies primary keys and source hashes. Preserve identifiers as text and distinguish missing values from zero.
GeoJSON coordinates are WGS84 in longitude, latitude order. Feature IDs are also present in properties.id.
Example record
This is an actual record from the data. For map layers, the example shows properties; the downloaded GeoJSON also contains the complete geometry.
